    Holder

He got the save and I'm happy, but I don't want him out there for 2 inning saves anymore.

We kind of almost had to put him in. They had runners on first and second with only one out in the eighth inning. Yes, maybe we could have put Girodo, Bracewell or whoever out there, but I can't really second guess something that worked. Holder only gave up one solid single and one almost home run- and almost still counts as an out in this case.

I don't want to have to have him out there for 2 innings anymore. After Ross put 2 on, it was that or trot Girodo out. I want Griodo fresh in case Fitts gets into trouble early Monday.

The good thing about the CWS is it is a lot more spread out than say the SEC Tournament or even a weekend series. Everyone is going to get at least one day of rest, which means we have a lot more flexibility than normal. That's very important for us since we have Kendall and the bullpen as our rotation.

Todd, assuming we play as many games as possible, how soon do we see Graveman again?

Graveman can go in Game 3 with this format
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

My guess would be -key word as many games as possible which I'm interpreting as us going through the loser's bracket- Friday in the elimination game. Ideally, we want to save him for the championship round which is Monday- about 9 days away.

If we do go through the loser's bracket and win, I think we would try to start Graveman on Tuesday in the championship round.

He does seem to stress you out when he's in there. But he's gotten the job done. Even more so with this huge ballpark.

Yep, another reason why the Pirtle error was so costly. Had he made the good throw there you have nobody on and 2 outs and Ross likely finishes the 8th where Holder only has to pitch the one inning. With the error and then the next guy getting on it really forced our hand to make the change and bring Holder in early. If the next guy up had been a LH batter we might have brought in Girodo but not with a right hander. And once Holder was in he was going to stay in.
