It's a big weekend gents. What's everyone have on tap? I'm smoking some wings, drums, and maybe something else for Saturday. I'll take pictures throughout

To steal from The Outdoor forum thread...What's on the menu for football Saturday?

I will be making an evening run to the grocery for tomorrow's Gameday foods. Not sure what I will try this weekend, but I'd love to try something new that maybe one of you guys are cooking up.

So I ask EliteDawgs, What's on menu for the weekend cooking and drinking wise?

Oh and if you aren't already visiting the Outdoor forum occasionally, you really should check it out. Not only is it a great forum for everything outdoors...they have a weekly drinking and cooking thread that always provides great ideas for tailgates or grilling at home. BeastMan and the gang have done a great job with that forum, and it's worth the read. Here's a link, check it out....

Now, what you cooking this weekend?

Dunno. Going with my two brother-in-laws to the USM-AppySt. game and we're going to some tailgate put on by one of their employers. I should note however that while he does IT work, the company is a certain food distributer. I'm taking that to mean we'll eat good!

Corndogs. Self-explanatory. Doing something different in hopes we'll break The Streak.

No doubt, Gotta have at least a corn dog or two.

I'm thinking about a little deer sausage on the grill too

My crowd for Saturday unexpectedly grew to quite a bit larger than usual, so I'm just going to do hot dogs and sausages. Prior to that I was planning on trying some Parmesan garlic burgers.

We'll leave this thread here for a bit until we merge it to it's rightful home. As Cadevar said, we do this thread on the outdoor forum every weekend and it's awesome

Don't know yet, but it will be cajun and involve lots of whiskey. I pattern my away game cooking after whoever our opponent is. Probably some boudin for sure. Corn dogs actually sound good although they'll be no cooking involved. Might do a big boil with sausage, potatoes, eggs, corn, okra and onions (I don't eat shrimp unless it's right out of the Gulf).

I think I'll drink bloody marys and Dixie beer and hope some of the corndoggers share some food from their tailgates.

On a side note, I purchased a Himilayan salt block last week. Anybody ever cook on one? Thinking of doing a rib eye but since I've never cooked on one, I might need to experiment before I screw up a $13.99 per pound hunk of heaven.

Make sure you heat it up with your oven. Don't put it in a hot oven cold, or it will split. It's a really nice tool to have though. Fish really like it.

I've been trying to decide. Good ideas here. Red beans and rice was something I was considering, but those nachos sound ideal for the first half.
