I agree on not be crazy about the symbolism but I was ok with him making everything right and dying like his father. On another note, I thought the ending song was pretty wicked.

I thought the end was pretty cheesy myself. As for his boys, I think they left many subtle hints saying that Abel was going to be just like his father but there was still time for Thomas. Gemma was heard saying this one time and Abel was twirling the Sons ring on his finger in his last scene.
He had an evil look about him too
