LA discussing taking guides catch from limits

I thought this is interesting. Any trip I've ever been on, the guides catch (or him being on board) counts toward the customers catch. I'm glad that folks are willing to try new things to help conserve the fish population but I just don't think recreational fisherman impact the populations much. I think Captain Travis Miller nails it in this article.

I don't believe it either. And I think you would have a hard time finding very many fisheries biologists to support that idea.

I agree. There are way too many fish out there, especially in LA, for one guide on each boat to hurt the population.

I also can't ever recall fishing with a guide that didn't let us add a limit for him to the cooler.

not sure, but I think the limit on slot reds is only 2 per isn't it ? ...not an inshore guy so I could be wrong, but that seems like it wouldn't do a lot of damage

3 in MS, 5 in LA. Speckled trout is really what I think their aim is. It's 25 per person. Still don't think that matters. They act like guides limit out every single time
