They beat Tennessee and Arkansas. They must have "some" pitching. I just don't see State's offense being good enough to sweep this weekend. Our batters will turn one of their unsung pitchers into Nolan Ryan, Greg Maddux and Sandy Koufax rolled into one in at least one game. State scored 8 runs Sunday and still manage to Strike out 13 of 27 total outs. In one inning State had 2 on and nobody out and K'd 3 straight times. Those non-productive outs hang a lot of Zeros.

Oh i don't predict a sweep I do think we'll win the series. There era this year is almost as bad as ours was last year. There pitching is bad and there defense is mediocre they can take though.

I think we can sweep but feels like 2 of 3.

We are also ranked 6th in D1 in fielding.

I agree. 2 out of 3 to get to 14-10 SEC would be solid with 6 games remaining. Recent history tells us we are going to likely be mad as hell how we lose one of these 3. Especially if that loss ends up being the one that prevented State from recovering from UCA and getting Peay'd on to become a Top 16 host.
A sweep this weekend would definitely set State up to host. But 14-10 gives State a fighting Bryce Chance!!!

You're probably right about that!

Probably comes down to our hitting which has been hit or miss, pardon the pun.

We almost have to have a sweep. Our non con woes have backed us into a corner where we probably need 18 SEC wins to host. We need to win 5 of our last 6 at home and not get swept at Arky. I would love to sweep this one to let us play a little loose at Arky.

Think it depends on what teams do ahead of us too. We just beat one of them (Vandy). We can get by with less if some fall apart that are currently ahead of us. It is about us moving up and others moving down. Two moving parts here, it is not all just us.

Our stat keeper is a joke so I have to take it with a grain of salt but D has looked solid.
