Sunday Morning QB- Got That Sweep Edition

    1. Sweep. Huge for us when we had to have it. Tied for 5th in the SEC with Candy at 10-8 as we head up there to see them Friday

    2. Hugesak and Trout are really hitting the ball well right now. Both had 6 hits on the weekend and both had big AB's that helped us sweep.

    3. How about that pitching? Allowed 5 runs all weekend with only 1 bad inning out of the 24 we played. Purdue just continues being one the SEC's best (remember all the pouty faces around here when Lemon signed him instead of Holman?????) and Caribbean Jerk responded after being a little off last weekend. Auger has showed us now that he is a 40 pitch guy and then he hits the wall. 2 weekends in a row its happened. Hardin looked great.

    4. Larry and Kohler with a couple of hits this weekend. Really need these two to get going

    5. Hines still trying to pull everything this weekend. Went the other way once- got a hit. Stop pulling the outside FB for a groundout to 2nd

    6. Jordan is in a funk. Some really bad AB's this weekend.

    7. Long had a couple of passed balls this weekend. Got to tighten up some of these cross ups they are having as well.

    8. Downs should be cut for that baserunning mistake. Holy shit that was bad

    9. Some people on here saying Dohm is done for the season but he was throwing this weekend with the other pitchers. So who knows

    10. Ok Candy- here we come. Need 1 and then find a way to win the series. Our Friday/Sat guys on the hill give us a chance to win every series. Let' get us a road one.

If Dohm is going to come back he needs to pitch on Tuesday in some capacity IMO. Hard to see him going more than one inning at a time and that's probably being optimistic.

And YES on point number 8!

    Great sweep.

IF you play the what if so far this season, we are likely sitting in first place. Should have swept LSU, could have taken 2 of 3 at TAMU, should have swept UF, should have won 2 of 3 OM, That is 5 more wins easily. We are so close.

Really be great if we can at least go 2-2 this week and 3-1 if lucky. We can play our way into hosting if we can finish strong.

By my calculation, we need to be around 20-10 to even get our RPI into the 20s. (This is really hard to predict because every game in the country can affect our resume, and other teams could rise or fall around us too). The hosting dream is dead.

Our best bet is to finish like 18-12 and an RPI in the high 30s, and one of the top national seeds is going to be pissed to draw us as the 2 in their regional. And I would like our chances to win it.

Saw Dohm throwing, and he wasn?t just tossing. He was at 80% or better. It seems weird if he is throwing that hard, but is too injured to pitch again this season.
