That's gonna be a tough sale now… "Hey, we really want you at MSU for the next 2 to 3 years, I hope I'm not here, but we really want you to be here."

Lol too funny. But you're right, it will affect recruiting

If we offer that guy the most, he will come. If Jans leaves next season, he'll go to whoever pays him the most then. The only way it affects recruiting is if money is equal.

Jans is going nowhere right now. They are ironing out a few things, but one thing, which is an issue to me, is his buyout. He wants his buyout at $3-4mm, but Selmon says $7-8mm. Probably going to meet halfway.
This has a little hint of Dan in it.

Apparently, Jans has an offer on table that will put him around 4 mil per year. He has yet to sign it.
4 mil per is the same as the Lebby contract. Thats wild if you ask me

Yes it's wild and unnecessary. Lower the buyout and keep the pay the same. He wants out so see if he can perform next year and let him leave.

Good idea. Any pay increase comes with higher buy out

Next year will be even more interesting now. Most of Howland's guys gone & only difference maker Jans has brought in is Hubbard who fell in his lap. On him to rebuild & improve team in 2024. We'll see.

Clary is a top 40 transfer on both on3 and 247. Maybe we should see how this plays out...

I don't think it will matter much, if at all. Seems like no one in college basketball plans beyond the upcoming season. Players are just looking for that next paycheck and can get it from another school just as easy as the current one.

We needed to add scorers and he's a scorer. I know he's undersized but he and Hubbard should be a pretty dynamic pair.
