OT: Lets welcome the new NFL kick rule....
with a video of fred brown

Mark me down as against it. The pussification of America continues.

"Might as well put dresses on them". The late, great Jack Lambert speaking on rules protecting QB's in his playing days. Old Raiders, Steelers players from the '60's and 70's couldn't play a quarter in today's game, which is headed to two hand touch. Becoming hard to watch with "D"players at a complete disadvantage.

Game is ruined, no one is going to watch this crap.... Fast forward to TV ratings keep going up... Hmmmmm, maybe offense is more fun to watch than 3 yards and a cloud of dust?

just put flags on their hips/

It's a terrible new rule. They've initiated several things over the past few years that make the game less enjoyable. I guess using the Dicker-Rod and a colored football will be next.

Not sure why the hate. Kickoffs had become such a formality and not a meaningful play. This should bring back some excitement to kickoffs. At the very least there?s no way the new set up is worse than the current kickoff arrangement

It may bring value to true kickoff returners in the NFL. That has to be good news for Tulu.

How are y'all bitching and moaning about something that will make football MORE exciting while also reducing injuries? It's rare that you can do both.
Last year, the TD return rate was 22%. TWENTY TWO PERCENT! Do you big strong manly men like watching the players do nothing on a play 78% of the time? No? That's what I thought. This encourages play to actually happen.
WHY IS EVERYONE YELLING?!?

This is much better than watching a kicker kick through the endzone
-
Seems like a good change to me. Regardless of the injury part of it, it seems we'll get some electric kick returns next season.

This is starting to make sense. What would you rather see a non athletic kicker kick the ball out of an endzone or Devon Hester rub one back.
