Saw Marcus Grant outside Charlie Winfield's office today. Hope he was working the phones to help keep this outstanding young man for a couple more years. Also hope he has Chris's number to help out the football team. Denico also got "a pocket full of change" (ZZ Top, "Just Got Paid"), today. Hail Josh and Hail Chris, Denico & all our former players in professional leagues!

Don't see Hubbard going pro this year.

He's a 5'10 guard (with shoes on) that can shoot it but still has flaws defensively and with his ball handling. He plays the 2 guard spot for us but there's no way he could do that at the pro level. He needs to work on some things to be a legit pro prospect

Yall do realize there?s not a lot of defense played in the NBA, right?
I will predict he will be a 2nd round pick after 1 more yr in college.

NBA absolutely plays defense, they just pick and choose when they do it (ie crunch time, playoffs).

Hubbard still has to improve his defense to be a legit NBA prospect.

I would typically agree with you but there isn't alot of defense played in the NBA right now and as the season went on, I realized how good of a scorer Hubbard actually is. He is in a rare group of small gaurds who can score so effortlessly. One advantage that he has is he jumps so high and releases the ball at the apex every single time so its even hard for bigger guards and forwards to affect his shots.

He's a special scorer, if he was 4 to 6 inches taller he would be a top 5 pick this year. His size will hurt him some but there have been some small guards that made it to the NBA so it can happen.

NBA teams still want guys who can defend. Like I said earlier, there isn't a lot of defense played all the time, but when it's crunch time or the playoffs, defense is absolutely played and you want guys that can give you that.

    -He's a very good shooter.
-He can get to the rim, but he still needs work at finishing
-He needs to improve his ball handling because he'll have to be a PG because no NBA team wants a 5'10 SG.
-He needs to improve his defense
    -He's a special player
-He needs to return to school 1-2 more years to improve

All these things can be true.

His height is just going to be a MASSIVE issue at the NBA level. To start the year, there were only 6 players in the league under 6 ft. And four of those six were 5’11. To be able to succeed at the next level he is going to have to be an ELITE PG. Meaning he is going to have to have a skill that separates him from other guards. He either is going to have to choose the CP3 route and become an elite ball handler or go the Damian Lillard route and just have extreme range and the ability to go off on any night. He has that at the college level, but having it at the NBA level is a different animal.

I'm definitely not disagreeing with you, it will be an uphill battle for Hubbard because of his size, if he didn't play defense but was 6'4" he would still be a lottery pick because he is that good of a scorer. That's what I mean by defense not mattering as much in the NBA. But you are right being that small will cost you on the defensive end and no matter how good you get coached on that side of the ball, you can't teach size.

Marcus Grant was in the Hump club level for the South Carolina game. Does he work for the BI now?

There are only 2 players in the NBA 5-10 or shorter. Both were undrafted. Not saying it will not happen but facts dont lie.
