Let's pause for a minute to reflect on...

Just how bad of an AD John Cohen was. Football had been solid for 10 years....killed it. We were a top 5 program for Women's basketball...wrecked it overnight. First baseball hire???.... didn't work out. Second baseball hire?...appears to not be working out. At least he had us positioned to compete in the NIL era though...oh, wait, he missed there too.

Literally the only sport that got better under Cohen is MBB, and that is likely only because it had been so bad for so long it was hard to get worse.

His saving graces are Leach and Jans

We did win a NC while he was here?

And football was good until the whole thing with our coach dying

Did more long term damage than any AD not named Dudy Noble.

Hard not to see all the carnage from Cohen. Jans was a great hire. Lemo did cash in on previous program development by others but other than that, Cohen wrecked our Athletic dept. Hope he is that successful at Aub.

One good hire, one in how many, but the failure to come to terms with NIL and where that has left us will be his lasting legacy. We are behind, no one can deny that.

He hired Jans and Leach and we won a baseball national title under him. Women?s bball was always going to take a big step back when Schaefer left. He may have had some serious misses too, but our fans are way too critical of his tenure. It was not nearly as bad as many say.

We also historically crush all of our ADs. Perhaps the expectations of our fans relative to building a competitive athletic department are unrealistic.

If Cohen were still here, we would have made a better hire after Leach's death. It was lazily promoting Arnett that killed our program.

Running Schaefer off was probably the worst thing he did among a number of bad things. I know it's 'just WBB' but Schaefer is probably the best coach with the best fit for MSU we've ever had in any sport.

Let's reflect on the boosters that wanted him to be AD that essentially put him in place. Which I'm sure were the same boosters that put Arnett in charge.

Short term he did ok but he did not put us in a position long term to succeed. Being an AD is more than just hiring coaches and he was not good at that.

He evidently loves being told what to do or he would not be at auburn.
