so help a brother out. What are the chances with Spivey? he's announcing today at noon per his twitter. I looked him up and it said he's a tight end? Are we thinking about taking him on as an O-Lineman?
The best way to determine about where we will end up when everyone has a full class is to look at the "Average Ranking" of the committed players. If everyone fills up, that will be the determining factor of the rankings. We are currently at 86.08. We will probably end up in the 25 to 30 range.
Before anyone complains about that, realize that it is not a good year for talent in Mississippi. We are signing the best and they are really good, but that is all we can do without expanding our footprint/reputation.
what's the story on Antonio Nelson? 10th ranked player out of AL, does that #4 say he's the 4th best CB in the country?

Look at his rating. compare that to the high school class this year from Alabama. A good comparison is this kid: https://247sports.com/Player/Daniel-Beard-89703
That kid is a safety with similar rating. Long story short: no, being the number 5 corner in Juco is about equivalent to being the 100th best corner in high school. Typically a kid like that won't pick up many major D1 offers.
Spivey to the good guys per 247
To be clear: I'm not trying to knock the kid for his rating. I personally don't care. I was trying to draw a comparison for Bully13 to see why the kid doesn't have a ton of D1 offers.
The fact of the matter is that we should expect Juco kids to be rated less--their value to the team is normally less. They lose two years of eligibility and get worse coaching during that time. As in, less development. (Normally. Yes I understand that sometimes there are kids who aren't ready for D1.)
I promise you there isn't some international Illuminati in a smoky back room conspiring to artificially deflate recruiting rankings of Juco kids.
