The nervous nellies among us who were sure OM would skate (you know who you are) misread the situation.
The big picture here is the Dickie Scruggs faction of low-character alumni who wanted a return to their glory days.... Losing three in a row to Mullen got them out over their skis. Presto: the Network, funded out of petty cash from tobacco and asbestos windfalls.
They sucked in Archie, brought in a known quantity stooge from Arkansas State .
Freeze was there to cheat from the start. Also to put a pious face on the program for the gullible.
It almost worked... it might have without the efforts of this board and Rosebowl and a few other... (Big F/U right here to local media; they'll do the same next time OM transgresses.)
Despite the odds, Freeze is, as predicted here last week, the worst of the recent terrible head coach hires in Oxford.
..they may be begging for a DP before all is said and done.
