Hearing Bragg, Jolly, and Blaylock are gone. That, along with Cyr transferring, is creating a good bit of room. Seems like a lot of roster management issues going on, which I guess is normal for this time of the year.
I'm a little surprised about Blaylock.
It would be a big plus if Billingsley could develop some consistency and be good enough for midweek or Sunday.
As for Jolly, Bragg, and Blaylock, maybe we have already seen their ceiling. I could see Blaylock leaving because he's still got a couple years of eligibility. I wonder if Jolly and Bragg left on their own or were "asked". Are we going to backfill with other random JUCOs of the same talent level?
I'm curious to see how the roster situation is going to play out with injuries, transfers, draft, etc. We are going to have about 15 returning, healthy players heading into fall. How many players do we currently have slated to enroll?
This was inevitable as far as roster movement. More to come I expect. The level of roster talent from top to bottom is about to increase dramatically.
Surprising that he wasn't willing to try to work on it. Canny had him starting at the beginning of the season but maybe he realized he can't hit SEC pitching. He struck out a lot.
Bragg doesn't really surprise me since he seemed to stay in the doghouse from his practice habits or whatever reasons.
Jolly does surprise me since he pitched a lot.
Add Mahoney to the list leaving. Surprised about Blaylock...he's hitting .444 with a bomb and a few doubles already.
Blaylock is the only surprise for me.
I have a feeling if he said it was him or henderson then Cann told him to gtfo.
How did Mahoney ever get a roster spot when Blaylock got to pitch before he did?
