Michael Sam is liable to break Bo Sunshine Wallace's arm off as many times as hes gonna be sacked by Mizzou.
I don't have time to list all the reasons we win this game but here is a few.
1. We run the ball inside the tackles. They will struggle stopping This.
2. We will want it more and we are playing at home.
3. Our Defense will pressure Wallace into making bad throws.
4. They will not be able to get to the edge on us. We have fast linebackers and great DE's that will keep them inside where they are BAD.
Guy's mark this post so you can come back and tell me how right I was after the game. We win this one, I would bet my last dollar on it.
Alabama is the only team that ran the ball up the middle on them. Auburn and A&M had success on the edge with QBs. Dak could be this threat but it wont come up the middle.
Home field matters. But I don't think you can say anyone will want to win more than OM. OM under Freeze hasn't had any issues with getting up for important games. I do think the passion/motivation will be equal though between the two teams.
This might be the case. But Alabama has been the only team to really do this so far. I don't think MSU has a better pass rush than LSU, Bama or Auburn.
OM hasn't gotten to edge against anyone since the Texas game. They have depending heavily on Wallace of late. If MSU is to win, it'll be by taking away the pass on first down. When OM gets good results on 1st down, they are hard to stop.
State might very well win, but I would be willing to bet it will not be for most of the reasons you described.
I just hope State isnt tied or ahead by less than 7 points with 3 minutes or less in the game with om having the ball. I can see them marching down the field and scoring pretty quickly and us not being able to get it passed the 50 without running out of time. We have no two minute offense
Im convinced that it is this simple:
We beat Arkansas - we will beat the bears.
We lose to Arkansas - we will lose to the bears.
And I have to keep reminding people-
1. No 1st year UPig coach has ever beaten us
2. We've never played a UPig team in Arkansas that was winless in the SEC
There are trends both ways this season
It comes down to us stuffing their run game and putting some points on the board
Gotta agree with this.
I think we beat Arkansas. And I think we beat them handily. We'll score in the fourth quarter a couple of times to just put it way out of reach. This will fire up the team and Mullen can use it to pump them up for the EB. I have a feeling Dak and Josh will be the equivalent of Relf and Dixon in that 2009 EB.
The MSU and OM schedules aren't close.
Who wants to trade opening game with OSU for a Texas team who just had their DC fired and had a QB out?
I agree, if for no other reason than to quiet the hysterical among us who thinks this fact has any impact whatsoever on the game. There is no "mental block" or supernatural power keeping us from winning in Arkansas. It's simply that the circumstances have been mostly in Arkansas' favor over the relatively short span we've been playing them regularly. If we'd only been playing LSU every year since 1992, we wouldn't have beat them in their state during that time span either.
Neither Osu nor Texas are looking good this year - I call that a wash except they won and we lost. I would not want to trade our Kentucky game for their vandy game. If we'd played an equally passionate game against vandy as we did against kentucky we would have lost by 2 TD's. the bears were lucky to get out of Nashville with that win.
Arkansas games.......I have been to most of them over there. Like other posters have said, most years, we have been the underdog. Only two years come to mind, 1993........so long ago but I was there. We should have beat them but we tied. We played like excrement. Jordan got hurt and we had to finish the game with freshman Derrick Taite. The 1999 game, again, we had a good team but so did they. Also, in 1999 they had their sights set on us. The players, coaches and fans were pissed about the 98 game. The 2001 game...I think 2001. We had a lead in the final minute in Fayetteville. Until Matt Jones, Johnnie Footballed us....the pocket breaks down and he runs 80 yards. Sickening. Anyway.....your brief history of MSU football in Arkansas. I understand most of our fans don't know it.......as we usually only have a few hundred there anyway. But I digress.....
I only saw like 2 posts in this entire thread that were legitimate reasons (not "they haven't won in a decade" or "senior night") that we WILL win the Egg Bowl.
