Roster move, Alec Murphy moved to linebacker due to numbers and possible playing time.
Thanks for posting the link.
First I’ve read/heard that B. Bryant wasn’t making grades. Wonder how serious it is as this is not a good time to be not be on the field...
I like the fact that coach seen the log jam at rb and gave him an opportunity for some pt.
Alec is a great guy, intelligent too. Friend of mine. Glad he might be getting some playing time
Interesting move (haven’t had the chance to watch) Murphy has the size but seemed soft as a rb. Interested to see what he does with the opportunity. LB in the SEC can’t be soft.
Nice.
Murphy wasn’t going to play at RB . Period.
I doubt he gets many reps at LB but 100x better chance to get on the field
He will play Special Teams for sure
And was told Murphy is a great kid and busts his ass and has great work ethic. Always good having those kind of guys on ur team
Willie Gay will be an excellent ''Star''. I cringed a bit bc I remember the ''Viper'' debacle under Sirmon
If we're gonna do a 4-2-5 and play combo coverage Shoop needs to get with Gary Patterson and take notes
And before anyone sees the depth charts for the day or reads practice reports who’s with the 1s or 2s remember it’s the ****ing spring.
First impressions of JoMo practice reports that are way over thought:
1. He doesn't appear to mind praising a Freshman. That could lend to him being more comfortable playing them.
2. We don't know JoMo's average yet. We don't know if he's in a good mood, bad mood, or just average. That will come with time, big games, etc.. We simply can't tell how he feels about things. By the end of the Mullen era, I could just about tell you how we would play that weekend due to how he talked throughout the week .
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think they're two totally different positions. I think the Viper was a hybrid DE/OLB type like Sweat or Green. (Well, Green should have been in Sirmon's defense) I think the Star position is a hybrid OLB/Safety kind of like the old DOG backs in Joe Lee Dunn's defense.
