SECT vs Arkansas Game Thread
-
Cody bumped down bc he's struggling at the plate. Stovall at cleanup. This looks a bit Cohenish, with a small guy at cleanup, but I like it
-
Yeah since our only true cleanup guy is Rooker it really doesn't matter at cleanup. I would rather him split up Cody and Vansau though so they can't bullpen matchup on us with a lefty late.

I agree
-
Poor at bats by Mangum and Stovall. Quit being so damn impatient, and quit pulling outside pitches.
-
Hitting the ball hard. Feel like if Denver throws strikes we should have a good shot to win this one.
-
Nothing doing for the dawgs top 1.
Gridley lined out to LF
Rooker single
Mangum tapper to 2b
Stovall worm burner to 3b
-
Nobody updating game thread? Nothing doing for MSU in top of first. 0-0 going to bottom of first.
-
Lol, 3 updates at the same time
-
McQ wild with the fastball...ugh....
-
-
Arkansas gonna smoke us.
2-0 after the walk & bomb.
-
Long day 2 run homer on McQ. He just isn't a starting pitcher in the SEC.
-
1-0 and no big deal if you don't walk the guy before, Denver

Nope
-
Going to top of the second Hogs up 2-0.
-
Wasn't a terrible pitch the guy hit out. But when you walk people you double or triple any damage. If it's 1-0 right now, you tip your cap and get it back...but it's 2-0 bc you can't throw a ****ing strike. Now we're in a hole, and haven't been scoring runs lately
-
Ain't feeling so spiffy now. I think we lose today and go out West.

I think he was quoted last week when he walked so many to say "i walked all of them because i lost focus." WUT??
He's now walked 38 in 46 innings of pitching this year. That's laughable bad.
-
Cody's killing us with the pop ups

We were going to have to score more then two runs to win regardless. So I don't think it really matters when they score.

Macnamee should be in the 3-5 hole, Brown should be 6-7

I don't know that I've seen a guy struggle like Poole has.
-
TO tell you how confident I am in Poole I went to take leak when he batted. Awful.

Isn't he a freshman? He probably needs more time to develop which he would have if we didn't have a bomb drop on everyones elbow during the last year.
-
Ugh, Poole grounds out with two runners on to end the inning. We go to Bottom of the second down 2-0. I've noticed that it doesn't matter where Poole hits we will have runners on base and he will get an out. He has come up to bat with runners on almost every time he has batted the last 10 or so games. That's another reason we struggle is who comes up to bat with runners on.
-
Poole really should either drag bunt or push bunt every time. He's a good bunter, can fly, and it forces the defender to hurry and make a tough throw.

He just doesn't look like he can hit SEC pitching. He actually makes Alexander look good.
-
Gridley SS
Rooker 1B
Mangum CF
Macnamee LF
Stovall 2B
Vansau RF
Cody 3B
Bragg DH
Lovelady C
Something like that

Alexander is awful at the plate too, but he did reach 3 times in lsu series by walks. Scored all 3 times also. Alexander walks at 9.8% and Poole around 4.5%. If we're gonna play one of them, Alexander is the better choice imo
-
Billingsley or Gordon will get crushed by AU. Looks like we'll be in California next week for a brief stent. Maybe Pilk can give us a shot vs a 3 seed

And insert Poole and Alexander late as defensive replacements if need be

Bad luck. He hit a double yesterdat but slides past second and gets tagged out. He might need to sacrifice a chicken to Jubu.
-
3-0
McQ getting beaten to death
-
Mckinleys first hit of year haha

And, in the event either runs into a fastball, Luke has more pop
