Exactly. And just because a player doesn't contribute much as a freshman or sophomore it does not mean that they wouldn't as a junior or senior.

I had no idea who Nixon was. If he didn't see significant playing time, I don't keep up with their backups.
And, while we are at it, where is it confirmed he's leaving, who ever he is?
Why say confirmed when it isn't?
And I'm not mad but I don't just make shit up
Every transfer hurts. Depth will be an issue.

OM has 83 players listed on their roster on 247.
22 are Seniors. That leaves 61 prior to transfers. They have 5 confirmed transfers that take them down to 56. They only have 10 commits and it is December 5th. Every kid from that '16 class that bolts is a win. Every kid that replaces them will be of a lesser talent level. If Mars springs 11 (more than 1 and less than 12 was his quote), that is a stake to the heart.
People freaking that the OM sanctions are light, sure they can still sign 21 players this year, but what does it matter if they are stealing them from Alcorn and Delta State.

Told ya Jefferson was transferring
it appears tsun has caved in to transfer restrictions. don't see Mars being needed anymore at this point. they've been trying to get this guy out of their lives for quite some time now, at any price needed.
I suspect that you're going to see them recover now that it's known they more or less skated on the sanctions. I'm sure it will be a weak class, but I doubt it will be a killer. They'll get 21 players, a few of whom will be pretty solid and just have OM ties, and they'll get another 15-17 that are low end for SEC players, but will at least give them warm bodies that mitigate the damage provided they get back into the 20-35 range for the 2019 and 2020 classes.
Next year is going to be a very big calculated risk for them. If they recruit cleanly, they likely won't sign a good enough class to make up for the 2017 and 2018 class.
They can probably do their normal recruiting of the Mississippi players next year and be fine, but there's a slight possibility the NCAA is still relevant and will come after them and try to hit them as repeat violators.
