If you haven't watched the show, it is the creation of the Behavior unit at the FBI. It is how they developed psychological profiles on serial killers. Season 2 is around a serial killer that killed kids in Atlanta in the late 70 - early 80s.
This is a great show if you haven't watched it.
It's pretty cool considering I just listened to the Atlanta Monster podcast.
Great show. The guy that played Manson brought him back from the dead.

Just binged season 1 the past week, staring season 2 now. Holy hell this show is good. I knew it would be (i.e., Fincher), just never took the time to watch. Glad I finally did.
I'm working my way through season 2. Pretty good attention to detail concerning the timeframe.
Finished season 2 last night. Really good, the last two episodes especially.
On the watch list... had to finish orange is the new black.. then stranger things.. that's up next. loved season one.
