I have a small dog with a luxating patella. I have been giving her joint medicine for the past year. It seems to be getting worse since last year. She barely can put any weight on it at all and I'm pretty sure it's popping in and out every step she is taking. Is it time for me to get the surgery done? I hear the surgery is pretty rough for dogs and I know the recovery is hard. That is why I've put it off this long. Any advice would be appreciated.
