I'm betting you'll see rain, but best combination of ingredients may stay to your north. Maybe well to your north but that's to be determined. SPC has issued a slight threat down to the I-20 corridor. I'm just not too sure, personally, widespread severe makes that far south.
Any idea on time or too early to tell?
Probably late morning for the western counties looks to be latest thinking.
Thanks Vegas. You the man
What can you tell me bout the memphis area saturday morni g?
Timing should be about the same with onset around 11:00. Maybe a little earlier. My personal opinion is that Memphis to Nashville has the best chance at severe as things look now. Still don't think this is a huge tornado event but 3 or 4 scattered around wouldn't surprise me.
Great...awesome weather for a kayak fiahing tournament lol
The latest information is starting to come in for the system this weekend. I've gone from not being overly impressed with this system to on the verge of not even giving it a second thought. It looks like this thing is about to fall apart quicker than a Yancy blog post. If trends continue, I would expect the SPC to remove us from any kind of severe threat. Maybe, if we're lucky, a storm or two that might produce some gusty winds and maybe some small hail. The tornado threat is virtually nil. The system has good speed shear but almost no directional shear and instability looks to be limited for this time of year. If I were to paint any area in the region for having the best shot at seeing storms of consequence it would be up in TN and maybe extreme northern MS.
Not with these guys. Better measure the limit (3) or you aint in the money..
Also, thatnks SVD...also just realize you need a logo similar to svp (bald man w/headphines). Im thinkinga silhouette of ollie the weatherman in family guy
